Biographies are awesome

Well, since I finally have both my Libertines Bound Together book and The Young One's Bachelor Boys book, I guess that means I'm gonna have to start devouring my stack of unread biographies. Currently, my list reads like this:

+ My Booky Wook - Russell Brand (Thusfar my alltime favourite autobiography. It reads the way he talks and is a dark yet always enjoyable summary of his life pre-fame.)
+ Jihaku - Gackt (I read the online translation of it, as I has yet to be released in English. The way the man's mind works is baffling, hilarious, and inspirational all at once. The chapter on love and sex is one of the funniest things I've ever read.
+ Moab Is My Washpot - Stephen Fry (It was an interesting if slightly shambolic read, and all the more awesome for the parallels I drew between it and the first Booky Wook. A lot of pain, and a lot of redemption.)

+ Believe - an Eddie Izzard documentary. (It fucking astounded me to learn just how gloriously tenatious Eddie Izzard is. The amount of work and the constant struggle he went through is absolutely inspiring. The guy has motherfucking balls of steel.)

Unread, owned
+ Russell Brand's My Booky Wook 2: This Time It's Personal (Not read very far yet, but it's not as good as the first. Still a good read though.)
+ Stephen Fry Chronicles (Very good so far)
+ The Libertines: Bound Together (Cannot describe how excited I am to read this. I find the friendship between Pete Doherty and Carl Barat to be one of the most fascinating in the history of music.)
+ The Young One's: Bachelor Boys (Of course, an in-character book about The Young Ones. Pretty fucking funny.)

Unread, un-owned
+ Bigger Than Hitler, Better Than Christ - Rik Mayall (I've heard great things, and will attempt to track it down some time.)

Silly LJ

Someone sent me a really nice message on LJ yesterday, and I wanted to reply to it, but apparently they enabled privacy settings for their messaging system. So even though I'd like to reply to their question, I can't. You'd think LJ would at least give you the option to reply to people if they've sent you a message, privacy settings or no privacy settings :/

Gorillaz Fic: A King is Not a Pawn - Chapter 1

A King is Not a Pawn – Chapter 1

Title: A King is Not a Pawn

Chapter: Chapter 1

Pairing: Murdoc/2D

Genre: Romance/Angst

Rating: R - NC-17

Summary: During his many moments alone, 2D wonders what he’s doing on Plastic Beach and what the hell is going on in Murdoc’s head. Murdoc meanwhile is trying very hard to obey a self-imposed rule he swore never to break.

A/N: Tried to add as much of the Gorillaz canon up to now as I could feasibly manage, but some things have been left out to save me the massive frustration of first waiting for the truth behind Murdoc to be revealed. (Not that I’m not bloody excited to find out, mind you. Is he some sort of Immortal? Is it reincarnation? What is his business with the Evangelist? Oooh, I want to know!)

Also, I’m going to pretend the ten blue-haired children thing was a joke, for the sake of my sanity.

Things have been a bit up and down since the beginning of the year. I have finally started seeing a counsellor and a psychiatrist, and I feel that it is doing me some good.

For about a month or so I was simply hunky dory, but I do feel as if I'm on a bit of a downslope right now. I find myself getting bored with things sooner and lack any desire to work on fic. I've started getting back into the routine of waking up late in the day and doing nothing of importance for what little time I am awake.

In other news, I need to get back to working so I can afford Lolita again. There are several sites I want to splurge on, so I'm going to need cash. That classic wardrobe isn't going to finance itself.
